SELF
Q. In 50 words tell us something about you – your philosophy, your lifestyle, your ethics, your hobbies etc
A. I would like to introduce myself. My name is Teresa Mitchell and I have developed a business called
LaConcierge.
I have 32 years of business experience especially in administrative and human resource knowledge and expertise.
I have worked as a partner in a family transport business based in Warragul for over 20 years, employed with the
Adult Community Education (ACE) sector for over 9 years and employed in the Public sector – Australian Electoral
Commission, Department of Primary Industries, Australia Post and Department of Education and Training.
I have lived in Warragul for over 30 years and have been involved in various community organisations as an
executive committee member and team member and I value the contribution these organisations contribute to the
community. I have also hosted international students and teachers. I am Coordinator of Gippsland Women in Business
Network and member of Warragul Business Group.
BUSINESS DETAILS
Q. What is it that your business does?
A.
LaConcierge is an online Education and Business network.
JobLink™- Linking Students to Jobs
The website is about linking students to jobs including work experience, work placement, casual, part-time and
fulltime jobs. I’m currently working with the Baw Baw Schools Cluster to trial the program. But anyone is welcome
to register their interest.
Your Business Matters™
This is an opportunity for business owners to come on board to offer a practical insight into your business.
As business owners it is our responsibility to give our youth of today the support and mentoring to ensure that
we do have skilled employees and leaders for tomorrow. How else are they going to learn about work environments if
we don’t give them a chance to see how they operate?
It is important that we show students that there are enormous job opportunities in regional areas, so when they
go off to the big smoke to further their education that they will come back to their region.
Registration is free, and employers are able to advertise work experience and work placement positions for free.
To advertise a paid position a business will be required to pay a yearly membership, this will give you unlimited
paid position advertising. While the program is on trial paid membership is not required.
Q. What makes your business unique?
A. The website has been developed as a valuable resource to assist in linking schools and businesses. This
website also offers the opportunity for students and jobseekers to link to casual and part-time and full-time work
positions.
MARKETING
Q. What is the most important Marketing/Networking tool/strategy your business has had success with?
A. Getting yourself known – becoming a member of local networking groups.
SUPPORT
Q. What is it you are looking for as a member of HBBA?

education and job issues.
