Success is not about how much money you have to begin with, and you must be careful as you can blow thousands along the way by making some very simple mistakes. The first 12 months is an uncertain time, and real entrepreneurs know that starting up a business is one thing and running it is another.

George Gilder comments, “Because an entrepreneur can never be sure of a return on his investment, starting up a business is like offering a gift to the world, in the hope, but never the certainty, that the gift will be reciprocated.”

The biggest barrier to starting up a business is access to finance and a major concern is when and how you should register for taxes. If one feels that starting up a business is not for them, there is also the option of purchasing an existing business or a franchise.

It's probably safe to say that it can be frustrating and extremely hard, but it can also be a very exciting and fulfilling.
