Animal Businesses Cater to a Boom
Market
In the Home Based Business Sector
Because more people are seeking natural health care for themselves and
their animals, more animal businesses are offering holistic services and product, including holistic vets, boarding
facilities, groomers and many other animal businesses are also offering this service for their clients.
Many of these are home based businesses.
Animal businesses exceed over $50 billion in sales, and is it any wonder as countries such as Australia have an
extremely high rate of pet ownership, all wanting product and services for their pets. Guide dogs for the blind are
the most common example of service animal businesses but people claim to have many other kinds of service animals,
including: iguanas, ferrets, ducks, goats, cats, rabbits, miniature horses and spiders, many of which are run
as a home based business.
It is important for the governing bodies to make certain that farmers, hunters, breeders etc and those
people who have legitimate animal businesses are protected. All domestic animal businesses are legally required to
be registered with the local Council, and must follow strict regulations, whether they are a home based business or
not.
However, there is an explosion of home based businesses making product for animals or with animal images that
are not involved with regulations. T-Shirts, cards, fabric, name tags, kennels, igloos, play toys, collars,
training gear etc are just a few of the products that are cashing in on the animal businesses boom.
